This database collected more than 500 kinds of chemical composition information from Panax genus, with about 300 references.Almost all the plants from Panax genus have medicinal potential, and their composition of secondary metabolites are the basis of medicinal mechanism research.Until ginsenosides were isolated from genus such as P.ginseng and P.notoginseng for the first time, and verified by pathological research, ginsenosides may be the main components of Panax genus to play a medicinal functions role.Due to the different of Panax species,the different of saponins composition and content, and resulting in the different of medicinal function.In addition, the non-ginsenoside components of Panax genus also have pharmacological effects, such as the hemostasis mechanism of dencichine, the anti-oxidation, anti-aging, and anti-inflammatory effects of flavonoids.Therefore, the pharmacological activity of herbs is complex and requires more exploration.
